What it does. Cursor is a code editor built around an AI agent that can change many files and run commands for you, using its own Composer models or models from other labs. SpaceX completed its all-stock acquisition of Anysphere, valued at about $60 billion, on 14 August 2026, and the team joined SpaceXAI. Cursor says the deal gives it access to SpaceX's GPU fleet to train cheaper, more capable models.

Where it falls short. Its agent can take destructive actions with whatever credentials it can reach, and Cursor's own guidance relies on people approving privileged operations. It has also been slow to disclose what its models are built on.
